Learning, Teaching, Training Activity - Reus, 2024
From the 22nd to the 25th of May 2024, an international Learning, Teaching, Training Activity was held in Reus, Spain, aimed at professionals working in education and inclusion.
The focus of the activity was on refining assessment tools for individuals with disabilities, considering both technical and pedagogical aspects.
Considerable effort was dedicated to ensuring these tools are accessible, intuitive, and respectful of diverse profiles. This involved the introduction of visual and functional enhancements, as well as improvements in the identification of gender and abilities.
The participants engaged in a detailed examination of the legislative frameworks concerning the employability of individuals with disabilities at both European and national levels, with a focus on exemplary practices implemented across various countries. A particularly well-received session was the conference on labour market integration within the Baix Camp region, which stimulated a highly productive discussion on diverse strategies for socio-occupational integration.
Moreover, a practical workshop on coaching and mentoring was provided to assist educators in developing more effective support mechanisms, with the aim of avoiding common errors and fostering more empathetic communication. The practical sessions also facilitated progress in the development of educational resources for the project's online platform.
The training concluded with a study visit to Taller Baix Camp, a supported employment centre that provided the partner organisations with a first-hand view of the practical application of the discussed strategies.
